Welcome to the Faith Corner of our website here at Short Sale Wealth. 

Let me start by saying that you don’t have to agree with what I believe to come here and learn about real estate.  At the same time, I have to give credit where I believe credit to be due.

You see, if it weren't for my relationship with God I truly believe that my entire real estate business (and life) wouldn't have blossomed into what is today.  Because of this, I felt that it was important to set up a section of the website dedicated to Him.

I must tell you…I didn’t always feel this way. 

Growing up, the whole subject of “faith” created more questions than it provided answers.  As a matter of fact, when I was a kid, the whole subject of “religion” and “church” created very negative emotions for me.  It seemed like religion was nothing more than a big laundry list of rules that you’re just not supposed to break. 

The problem with this philosophy is that I would break the rules...  Sometimes it seemed like I would break the rules a lot!  It was almost like I was being set up for failure, because once I would break the rules, whether I actually meant to or not, I would feel guilty. 

Therefore, to me, to have faith meant to walk around carrying this huge ten-thousand pound weight called guilt.  It’s no wonder why I didn’t want anything to do with it.

It wasn’t until 2004 that I had a change of heart. 

You see, rather than simply hearing about what all of the “rules” were, I started to actually build a relationship with this man named Jesus.  Before then, I must admit, even the term “building a relationship with Jesus” sounded a little fruity to me!   I remember thinking, “how can you possibly build a relationship with someone that you can’t see, you can’t talk to, and hasn’t walked this Earth for over 2000 years?  Not only that, but I have no proof!  How can I be sure He’s even out there?”

I remember meeting a man around this time that seemed to have it all together.  It was almost as if he just magically knew the answers.  He didn’t seem to have the same problems that I did. 

I remember him telling me that he got his strength from God and that he couldn’t take the credit for any of it.  I remember thinking at the time, “How is this possible?  How do you actually acquire faith when it’s just not there to begin with?”

That’s when I did something that I had never really done before. 

I simply prayed about it.  I had a conversation with God and simply asked him to provide me with faith.  I said,

“God, if you’re out there, please help me to have a relationship with you and your son Jesus Christ.”

That was the first time I ever truly asked God into my heart, and even though I did it from a stand point of total confusion, He listened. 

Since that day, I have been baptized, I found the woman of my dreams and married her, we created a son together, my business (even in this down market) is prospering more than ever, and my friendships and family relationships have become deeper than I ever thought possible.  

When I wake up each day, I feel a sense of comfort that I cannot even begin to describe.

  • Does that mean that I’ve never had another problem or challenge in my life since 2004?  Of course not. 
  • Does that mean that I don’t ever make stupid mistakes anymore?  Of course not. 
  • Does it mean that I’m perfect?  Of course not.  I’m FAR from it. 

But I will tell you this: things just don’t seem so hard any more.

There’s an overwhelming sense of comfort knowing that there’s something out there that loves me more than I can possibly fathom and promises to take care of me no matter what.  (maybe kind of like how I feel with my son??) 

Does that mean that I never ever struggle with my faith anymore?  Of course not.  I’m not suggesting that I have all of the answers.  But I do know that all of the credit and all of the glory for why I’m even here belongs to something much bigger than myself.

If you are not a Christian, that doesn't mean that I’m here to judge you in any way, nor does it mean that I’m not still here to help you with your real estate needs.  I’m certainly not going to try to push you into feeling a certain way, nor did I put this section of the website here to help sell products.  I just put this here to share some of my beliefs and to also say “thank you” to God every day for the blessings that He has provided in my life.
